The Second Annual Bruno's Way 5K and Fitness Walk is a great way to get out in the fresh air, and support CT pets in need!
“Bruno was such a big part of our lives and loved Mill Pond Park, especially the ducks.” says Andrea Kowal, Race Director and Bruno’s mom. “My committee and I are so excited to give back to the Connecticut Humane Society and support pets in need.”
Bruno was a Miniature Pincher mix who was rescued from a kill shelter and brought to Connecticut. With his boundless energy, he went on many runs around town helping his mom train for her own races.
When Bruno passed unexpectedly, it left a large hole in the family. The Kowal-Jeffery's felt the best way to remember Bruno would be to create a family (and pet!) friendly race in Newington, and who better than to benefit but the CT Humane Society!
Last year, as an inaugural race during Covid, we were still able to raise over $3,000! We are excited to outdo ourselves this year!
This event raises funds for pets in need supported by the Connecticut Humane Society, in memory of Bruno, pictured here.
Proceeds from the event will go toward veterinary care for pets at CHS, like urgent surgeries, treatment of chronic conditions, spay/neuter, and vaccinations.
CHS aids pets from all over Connecticut through its three locations in Newington, Waterford and Westport and the Fox Memorial Clinic.
